Technical Description
DTC C0049 indicates a circuit malfunction or out-of-range signal from the Brake Fluid Level Sensor to the ABS/ESP module or BCM. The sensor typically uses a magnetic float and reed switch assembly inside the master cylinder reservoir. When the fluid level drops or the wiring suffers an open/short circuit, the control module detects the abnormal voltage on its internal pull-up circuit (usually 5V or 12V), logging C0049 and illuminating the master brake warning indicator.
Possible Causes
