Technical Description
DTC C0402 indicates an electrical or functional malfunction within the Electric Power Steering (EPS) actuator, steering torque sensor, or integrated steering angle feedback circuit. The Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) continuously monitors the dual-channel torque sensor differential signals and BLDC motor phase currents. The DTC is triggered when the PSCM detects an out-of-range voltage, correlation mismatch between main and sub-signals, open/short circuit, or power stage driver fault during active assist.
Possible Causes
1. Defekt eller sliten vridmomentsensor (Torque Sensor) integrerad i rattstången/styrväxeln.
2. Spänningsfall eller oxiderade terminaler i EPS-huvudmatning, säkringshållare (maxi-fuse) eller chassijordpunkt.
3. Intern hårdvarudefekt i servostyrningsmodulen (PSCM/MOSFET-drivsteg bränt).
4. Kortslutning eller internt avbrott i elservomotorns faslindningar.
5. Förlorad nollpunktskalibrering efter mekaniskt ingrepp, hjulinställning eller batteriurladdning.

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
