On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) has detected an internal electrical fault in the control of the brake booster pre-pressure valve. The valve admits air into the booster during stability control and when adaptive cruise control needs extra brake pressure. The fault most often lies in the module itself, but the connectors and the valve should be checked first.

4If the fault remains after these checks, the brake control module normally needs replacing by a workshop
5The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the brake control module or brake booster yourself; leave this to a workshop
