On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) has found an incorrect voltage level at the valve in the cut-off unit, which is part of the brake pedal feel simulator. The valve is controlled by two signals, and when one of the wires is shorted to battery or ground, the code is set.

- Wire to the cut-off unit valve shorted to ground
- Ground wire to the valve shorted to battery
- Control signal to the valve shorted to ground

- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Look for damage in the wiring to the cut-off unit valve, particularly where it may have chafed against battery or ground
- 3Check the valve and signals with diagnostic equipment, then replace the parts it finds faulty
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the cut-off unit or braking system yourself; leave this to a workshop
