The control module sees a low level on the relay line for maximum fan speed for a long time, even though the control module has not switched the relay on. The fault is usually poor contact, an open circuit or a short to ground in the wiring to the relay, or a defective relay for the air conditioning or for maximum speed.
Mulige årsaker
- Contact resistance or oxidation at the connections
- Open circuit or short to ground in the wire between the fuse box and the blower fan relay
- Open circuit or short to ground in the wire from the blower fan relay to the climate control module
- Open circuit in the power supply to the air conditioning system relay
- Defective air conditioning system relay
- Defective blower fan relay for maximum speed
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1With the ignition on, check that the fan speed can be set with the selector on the climate panel, and check the maximum setting too
- 2If the fan works now, the fault is probably intermittent. Check the connectors at the air conditioning relay and the blower relay for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3With a multimeter, check that the supply wires to the relays have voltage with the ignition on, and that the ground wires are connected to the body
- 4Remedy anything found. If the wiring and connections are in order, have a workshop replace the blower fan relay
- 5After the repair, check that the maximum speed works
- 6If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the relay from the activation function and check that the fan or heating starts
