The left seat heating module has reported to the central electronic module (CEM) that the heater pad in the seat has a fault. The fault is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes, so it may have occurred earlier without being active now. If the heater pad is internally faulty it needs replacing.

1Clear the code and road test with the seat heater switched on to see whether the fault returns
2Check that the connectors in the cable to the left seat heater are secure and free from corrosion
3Check that the wiring under the seat is free from chafing and pinching
4Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the left seat heater are not broken and have no contact with ground (the body)
5If the heater pad is internally faulty, a workshop should replace it
