The CEM communicates with the overhead console (OHC) and the rear reading light (RRL) over the LIN bus. The fault is stored when the message from the overhead console is faulty, so that its checksum does not match. The fault affects the passenger compartment lighting and the electric sunshade.
Mulige årsaker
- Contact resistance, oxidation or poor contact in the connector terminals and connections
- Damaged overhead console (OHC)
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Check that the overhead console receives power and has a good earth point
- 2Check the connectors at the overhead console and the wire on the LIN bus for chafing and loose connections
- 3If other fault codes from the same LIN bus are also stored and end in 86 or 88, fault-trace those first, as they point to a fault on the bus
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the freeze frame data of the fault code to see the conditions under which it was set
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the overhead console
