The driver or passenger door module (DDM/PDM) continuously receives information from the central electronic control module (CEM), including the vehicle configuration. The code is stored when that configuration is missing from the CEM, which points to a fault in the CEM or in the messages passed between them. The troubleshooting is therefore done in the CEM, not in the door module.

- 1Read the codes stored in all control modules and note which ones are present
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and that the battery is well charged
- 3Fix the fault in the central electronic control module (CEM) first, since the door module is only missing data from it
- 4Erase the code only once the fault in the CEM is repaired, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 5If the code comes back, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the configuration and communication in the CEM
