Hva betyr feilkoden?
The engine control module monitors engine speed and logs a fault when the speed becomes too high. Causes are engine speed that has gone too high, a missed gearshift, or engine oil in the intake manifold or cylinder bores. The fault does not restrict any other function of the car.
Mulige årsaker
- Engine speed has gone too high
- Missed gearshift
- Engine oil in the intake manifold or cylinder bores
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read the fault code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Think about whether you recently shifted wrongly or drove in too low a gear at high speed, since a missed gearshift can cause excess revs
- 3Check the dipstick level; if it drops faster than usual, oil may be getting into combustion
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read engine speed in live data at idle and see whether it rises without the throttle being pressed
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check whether oil is getting into the intake or cylinder bores
Symptomer du kan merke1
- High or uneven idle, sometimes or all the time
