The engine control module compares the actual boost pressure with the value it calculates and logs a fault when they differ. The boost is too high according to the fault code. Causes are leaking or blocked hoses at the turbocharger and the control valve, a damaged vacuum regulator, or a damaged turbocharger control valve.
Mulige årsaker
- Leaking or blocked hoses to the turbocharger or the control valve
- Damaged vacuum regulator
- Damaged turbocharger control valve
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read the fault code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the hoses to the turbocharger and control valve are correctly fitted and intact, without cracks or blockage
- 3With the engine running, listen for leaking air around the hoses; a hissing sound points to the leak
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read boost pressure in live data as the accelerator is pressed and compare it with the value the control module calculates
- 5Have a workshop with a vacuum pump check the vacuum regulator and the function of the turbocharger control valve
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop decide whether the vacuum regulator or the control valve should be replaced
Symptomer du kan merke1
- Check engine light comes on or behaves abnormally
Generell veiledning for bileiere. Feilsøking på bilen kan peke på en annen årsak.
