Hva betyr feilkoden?
The engine control module (ECM) registers a spark time that is too short for cylinder 4, or too little current in the coil. A coil that does not deliver enough energy can cause misfires in that cylinder. The cause may be an open or grounded primary lead, or a damaged ignition coil or crankshaft pulley.
Mulige årsaker
- Open circuit on the ignition coil primary lead
- Short to ground on the ignition coil primary lead
- Damaged ignition coil
- Damaged pulley on the crankshaft
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read out the fault code, erase it and road-test to see whether it returns
- 2The ignition system works at high voltage, so keep your hands away from the coil for cylinder 4 while the engine runs
- 3Switch off the ignition and unplug the connector of the coil for cylinder 4. Check it for looseness, contact resistance and oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to confirm the primary lead to the coil for cylinder 4 has no open circuit and is not shorted to ground
- 5Check the crankshaft pulley for damaged teeth or other damage
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the ignition coil and its supply
