Hva betyr feilkoden?
The control modules send and receive information continuously over the car's CAN network. Although the code is named brake signal, the fault concerns communication: serious interference on the high-speed side of the CAN network, or disturbed or absent communication with the brake control module (BCM), sets the code. Cruise control cannot be engaged while the fault is active.
Mulige årsaker
- Loose connection, contact resistance or oxidation at the terminals
- Break in one of the CAN wires or a short between them
- A fault in another module sharing the same part of the CAN network
- The fault may originate in the brake control module (BCM)
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 2Try the cruise control with the switches on the steering wheel during a road test and see whether it can be engaged
- 3Check the connectors at the engine control module and the brake control module (BCM) for looseness, contact resistance and oxidation
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read out the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) and remedy them first, since communication with it is disturbed
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop read the CAN communication and reload the engine control module software if needed
