The engine control module has found that the rear oxygen sensor on bank 1 incorrectly indicates a lean fuel and air mixture. The rear sensor checks the exhaust after the catalytic converter, so its signal does not agree with the expected mixture.

- Damaged rear oxygen sensor on bank 1

- 1Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the intake manifold and its hoses for cracks and loose joints, since an air leak gives a wrong mixture
- 3Check the rear oxygen sensor connector for play and oxidation
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the rear oxygen sensor and replace it if needed
