Hva betyr feilkoden?
The fault concerns the alternator function. When the engine control module (ECM) detects a fault there, it asks over the CAN network for the charging lamp in the instrument cluster (DIM) to light, and the fault is set. Although the code says the PWM signal is too high, a signal that is too low can also cause it.
Mulige årsaker
- Wire between the engine control module and the charging regulator shorted to voltage
- Play, contact resistance or oxidation in the connector
- Open circuit or short to ground in the wire between the engine control module and the charging regulator
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read the fault code, clear it and test drive to see whether it returns
- 2Check the alternator wiring for a short to voltage
- 3Check that the wire between the engine control module and the charging regulator has no break and is not shorted to ground
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the charging voltage in live data with the engine running and check that it is steady
- 5If nothing is found and the fault returns after clearing and a test drive: have a workshop try a new charging regulator
Symptomer du kan merke1
- The charging lamp lights
