Hva betyr feilkoden?
The fault on the cylinder 4 ignition coil is stored as intermittent, meaning it has occurred at some point and may not be present now. It is set when the signal wire is shorted to ground or has an open circuit while the engine runs at higher speeds. The engine then does not fire on all cylinders.
Mulige årsaker
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the coil that only breaks contact now and then
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Poor contact in the connections
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and test drive at idle and at higher engine speeds
- 2Check that the connector at the cylinder 4 coil is secure, clean and free from oxidation
- 3Follow the signal wire to the coil and look for chafing, breaks and pinched sections, especially where the cable moves
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire has no contact with ground or with battery positive
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the coil and the control module
