Hva betyr feilkoden?
The engine control module (ECM) has registered a reading from the oil level sensor outside its reasonable operating range, and the code is stored. The fault may be due to engine oil leaking, poor contact at the sensor, or a damaged sensor. The code can also be set when the oil is heavily contaminated with, for example, fuel or coolant.
Mulige årsaker
- Engine oil leak
- Play, raised contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- Damaged oil level sensor
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1If other oil-related fault codes are stored at the same time, fix those first
- 2Look for oil leaks on the engine and for traces of oil around it
- 3Check that the connector at the oil level sensor is fully seated and free from oxidation
- 4Check the oil level with the dipstick and see whether the oil appears contaminated with fuel or coolant; if so, have a workshop check the engine
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the oil level value in live data with the engine running and see whether it lies outside the reasonable range
- 6If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop try a new oil level sensor
