Hva betyr feilkoden?
Although the code is titled signal too low, it concerns a problem on the steering wheel module (SWM) or on the CAN link, as registered by the ECM. The CEM, BCM and TCM can also be part of what is at fault.
Mulige årsaker
- The fault may lie in the steering wheel module (SWM)
- The fault may lie in the central electronic module (CEM)
- Open circuit in a CAN wire
- Short circuit between the CAN wires
- Internal fault in the ECM
- Internal fault in another module on the same section of the CAN network
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1First read the fault codes in the CEM and other affected modules and deal with them. The code is cleared only once those are remedied
- 2Then read the steering wheel module (SWM) fault codes and deal with them
- 3Use a multimeter on the CAN wires for open circuits and shorts to each other. Also check that the connectors are secure
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: check that the steering wheel module responds, and whether the cruise control buttons show in live data
- 5If the fault remains once the other codes are remedied, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment decide whether the ECM is at fault
