Hva betyr feilkoden?
The engine control module checks the CAN communication with the electric power steering module (EPS). The fault code is set when communication with the EPS module is not working. The fault can come from the power supply, connections, wiring, or a module that does not suit this car.
Mulige årsaker
- No power supply to the EPS module
- Loose connection, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Open circuit in the wiring to the EPS module on the high speed side of the CAN network
- Internal fault in another control module on the same network section
- The EPS module does not belong to this car. A used unit with other software or hardware is one example
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read out the fault codes in the engine control module and the EPS module, and fix the CAN codes first
- 2Check that the fuses supplying the EPS module are intact
- 3Check the connectors at the EPS module and the engine control module for play and corrosion
- 4Look for chafing and breaks on the CAN wires running to the EPS module
- 5If the EPS module has been replaced, check that it is intended for this exact car
- 6Steering is safety-critical. If the steering feels unsafe, do not drive the car until a workshop has checked it

- A text message and warning symbol appear in the display
- Warning lamps and warning signals behave abnormally, for example the Check engine lamp
