The boost pressure sensor (TMAP) measures boost pressure and temperature at the charge air cooler. The fault code is set when the signal from the sensor is above a limit. The cause can be a signal wire shorted to voltage, an open circuit in the signal wire or a damaged sensor.
Mulige årsaker
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the boost pressure sensor
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
- Damaged boost pressure sensor (TMAP)
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the boost pressure sensor has no voltage with the ignition off
- 2Check that the sensor connector is secure and not damaged
- 3Look for wiring that appears chafed or pinched at the sensor and along the route to it
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the boost pressure sensor temperature in live data with the engine running and check whether it reads an unreasonably high value
- 5Have a workshop check the sensor if the wiring is intact and the fault remains
Symptomer du kan merke1
- The Check engine warning lamp lights up
Hva feilen kan påvirke1
- The engine control module uses a calculated value instead of the measured temperature
Generell veiledning for bileiere. Feilsøking på bilen kan peke på en annen årsak.
