Hva betyr feilkoden?
The control module (ECM) watches the signal from the oil temperature sensor. The code is set when the signal is too low, which can be caused by a short to earth or a poor connection. The control module then works out the engine oil temperature using a model instead.
Mulige årsaker
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the connections
- Signal wire shorted to earth
- Damaged sensor for oil level and oil temperature
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Read and clear the code, then see whether it returns after a while of driving
- 3Check the oil temperature sensor connector for oxidation, contact resistance and damage
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not shorted to earth (the body)
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool: read the engine oil temperature in live data with the engine warm and see whether it is abnormally low
- 6If the fault remains, a workshop should check the sensor
