The fault concerns ignition coil C, which the code identifies as coil 3, and it is an open circuit in the signal wire between the engine control module (ECM) and the coil. The code is stored when the signal for the coil's primary winding is missing.
Mulige årsaker
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the connections
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Damaged ignition coil
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, start the engine and read the fault status. 'Fault found' means the fault is permanent.
- 2Check that the fuses are intact.
- 3With the ignition off, check the connector at ignition coil C for contact resistance and oxidation.
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to ignition coil C has no open circuit.
- 5Check that the wire to ignition coil C is not under strain or chafed in a way that could cause a break.
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop check ignition coil C and its diagnostic line.
