Hva betyr feilkoden?
The engine control module (ECM) controls the electric fan through the fan control module and receives information about the fan status from it. The code is set when the message from the fan control module is missing or incorrect, or when it reports an internal fault.
Mulige årsaker
- A wrong electric fan is fitted, or a connector is missing on an electric fan with two control modules
- Loose contact, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Break in the power feed to the electric fan
- Damaged electric fan control module
- Fault codes ECM-P048087 and ECM-P048096 can cause this code, so check them first
- Short circuit to ground
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Check that all connectors to the electric fan are in place. If it has two control modules, both connectors must be fitted
- 2If the fan has been replaced recently, check that it is the right model for the car
- 3Look at the fuses for the cooling fan and make sure they are intact
- 4Look at the connections to the electric fan for looseness, contact resistance and oxidation
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault status with the ignition on and see whether the fault is still active
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop examine the electric fan control module and the wiring
