Hva betyr feilkoden?
The ECM monitors the oil pressure with a combined oil pressure and oil temperature sensor and continuously compares the reading with the lowest permitted value. The code is set when the oil pressure is too low while the engine is running. Piston cooling is controlled by a valve that opens when needed, and the valve can affect oil pressure when it opens.
Mulige årsaker
- Piston cooling valve stuck in the open position
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage or ground, or open circuit
- Oil leak or too low oil level
- Poor oil quality
- Internal or external oil leak in the engine
- Oil pump broken or worn
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read the codes in the engine control module and diagnose the others first, as this code is most likely a follow-on from another electrical fault in the oil pressure control
- 2Check the oil level with the dipstick while the engine is stopped and top up if needed, and look for visible oil leaks under the engine and on its outer parts
- 3Check that the connectors and wiring to the oil pressure sensor are secure and undamaged
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the oil pressure in live data with the engine running and see whether the value follows the engine speed in a reasonable way
- 5Clear the code after repair and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 6If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the piston cooling valve, the oil pump and whether there is an internal oil leak
