Hva betyr feilkoden?
The control module reports that the circuit to the glow plug for cylinder 3 is open. The glow plugs heat the combustion chambers at cold start, so an open circuit makes a cold engine harder to start. The test for the fault starts when the ignition switch is in position II and glowing is activated.
Mulige årsaker
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the glow plug
- Defective glow plug control unit
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and check with a cold engine whether it returns
- 2Check the fuses for the glow plugs; their locations are in the owner's manual
- 3Look at the connector and cable to glow plug 3 for loose contacts, oxidation and chafed spots
- 4With a diagnostic tool you can activate glowing and see in live data whether the glowing reaches cylinder 3
- 5Use a multimeter to check that the wire to glow plug 3 is not open, with the connectors disconnected
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop check the glow plug and the glow system control unit
