Hva betyr feilkoden?
The control module has detected a signal that is too low in the circuit to the glow plug for cylinder 4. The glow plug heats the combustion chamber at start, and when its control does not work a cold engine becomes harder to start. The code is general and does not say what type of fault it is.
Mulige årsaker
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground
- Defective glow plug control unit
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and start the engine when cold to see whether the fault returns
- 2Check that the fuses for the glow system are intact in the owner's manual
- 3Look at the connector on glow plug 4 and the wiring for loose contacts, oxidation and chafed spots
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire to glow plug 4 has no contact with ground (the body), with the connectors disconnected
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, you can activate glowing and see whether cylinder 4 is included
- 6If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop check the glow plug control unit
