Hva betyr feilkoden?
The control module has detected a signal that is too high in the control circuit for the glow plug for cylinder 4. The glow plugs are controlled by a separate control unit and heat the combustion chambers at cold start. When the control of glow plug 4 does not work, a cold engine becomes harder to start.
Mulige årsaker
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Defective glow plug control unit
- Glow plug 4 has a short circuit to voltage
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read and clear the fault code, then check at cold start whether it returns
- 2Check the fuses for the glow plugs in the owner's manual
- 3Look at the connector and wire to glow plug 4 for loose contacts, oxidation and chafed spots
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire to glow plug 4 has no contact with voltage, with the connectors disconnected
- 5Activate glowing with a diagnostic tool, if you have one, and check in live data whether cylinder 4 is included
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop check the glow plug control unit
