Hva betyr feilkoden?
The engine control module watches what the RPM sensor sends. If the signal is missing, the control module treats this as a fault and the code is set. The fault may lie in the wiring, the connectors or the sensor itself.
Mulige årsaker
- Open circuit in the signal or ground lead
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground or supply voltage
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Damaged engine speed sensor
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read and clear the fault code, and start the engine to see whether it returns
- 2Look at the connectors at the speed sensor and the wiring for loose contacts, oxidation and chafing
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal and ground leads are not broken, with the connectors disconnected
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with ground or voltage, with the connectors disconnected
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the speed sensor. Damage to the flywheel or carrier plate can also cause the fault
