The engine control module (ECM) monitors the signal to the injectors and sets the code when the signal reads above the threshold. The cause can be a signal wire or earth wire shorted to supply voltage, or a damaged injector.

1Check that the fuses are intact.
2Look for chafed or pinched wires, especially where the signal and earth wires could have touched supply voltage.

4If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the injectors one at a time and see whether they respond.
5If the wiring is undamaged, have a workshop check the injectors.
