The engine control module (ECM) has received a message from the alternator control module (ACM) indicating a probable mechanical fault in the generator. The ACM controls and monitors the generator, and the ECM receives its status over LIN communication.

Damaged auxiliary unit belt and belt tensioner
Damaged freewheel
Damaged generator
The rotor in the generator is jammed, for instance by rust, dirt or loose objects

Hva du kan gjøre

1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are given in the owner's manual
2Check that the auxiliary unit belt and belt tensioner are not damaged
3Check the freewheel on the generator: a working freewheel lets the rotor shaft turn only one way, not the other
4Check that the generator is not blocked by rust, dirt or loose objects
5Check the battery charge and that the battery terminals are tight
