Hva betyr feilkoden?
The engine control module (ECM) has received a message from the alternator control module (ACM) about an electrical fault in the generator. The fault therefore concerns the generator's electronics and not anything mechanical. The cause may be a battery charger or starter unit that was connected with the wrong charge voltage, or worn carbon brushes in the generator.
Mulige årsaker
- A battery charger or starter unit set to the wrong charging voltage was connected to the car
- Worn carbon brushes
- Damaged alternator control module (ACM), meaning the charge regulator
- Damaged generator
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are given in the owner's manual
- 2Check that the connectors at the generator and the charge regulator are firmly seated and free from oxide or corrosion
- 3Use a multimeter to check whether the signal wire to the charge regulator is broken or in contact with earth or battery positive
- 4Have a diagnostic tool: read the generator status in live data with the engine running and note whether it changes while driving
- 5If the fault code returns after driving: have a workshop try a new generator
Symptomer du kan merke2
- A text message and a warning symbol appear in the display
- The generator and charge regulator may cause power supply problems
Hva feilen kan påvirke1
- The charge regulator charges with a fixed voltage
