The engine control module (ECM) monitors the signal line to the ignition coil primary winding. The code is set when the signal is too high, and here it concerns ignition coil 3. The code is general and does not specify a fault type, but it applies to ignition coil 3 and not to any other coil.

- The ignition coil is damaged
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact; their locations are shown in the car's owner's manual
- 2Read and note the code, clear it and run a test drive to see whether it returns
- 3Inspect the cable to ignition coil 3 for chafing, pinching and places where it may have contact with supply voltage
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to ignition coil 3 has no contact with supply voltage
- 5Check the connector at ignition coil 3 for loose contacts and corrosion
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the ignition coil and its wire
