Hva betyr feilkoden?
The control modules in the car send and receive information over the CAN network. The fault code is set when the control module detects serious interference on the high-speed network, which blocks communication. The power steering can then switch itself off until the power supply is broken.
Mulige årsaker
- Short circuit between the CAN cables
- Open circuit in one of the CAN cables
- Internal fault in the electric power steering module (EPS)
- Internal fault in another control module on the same part of the CAN network
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM) first, since it monitors the voltage on the CAN cables
- 2Check that the battery negative terminal is clean and firmly connected
- 3If other control modules are stuck in limp-home mode: lift the battery negative terminal for a while and reconnect it, so the modules return to normal operation
- 4Power steering affects how easily the car can be steered, so have a workshop fix the fault soon
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment measure the CAN cables, since this requires control modules to be disconnected

- Abnormally light steering at high speed
- Abnormally heavy steering at low speed
- General warning lamp is lit
- A message appears in the display

- The power steering shuts itself off, known as bus-off
- The pump motor may run at a constant speed
- The power steering stays off until the power supply is broken, and tries to communicate again when it is reconnected
