The passenger door module (PDM) sends and receives information over the LIN bus to the control module in the left or right rear door, depending on whether the car is left- or right-hand drive. It has registered that the transmitted information has been corrupted, because the checksum does not match. The fault can affect the electric windows and central locking.

- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Try the windows, the central locking and the switches in the doors to see which functions work
- 3Look for damage and loose connections in the wiring harness to the rear doors
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault codes in the passenger door module and the rear door modules and see which of them have fault codes
- 5Remedy as needed, then road test the car to see whether the fault code returns
