The tailgate control module (POT) monitors whether the closing motor is working and how long closing lasts. The fault is stored when the closing sequence takes longer than allowed, and the check starts once closing of the tailgate has been activated. The tailgate is then hard to close and open, and the central locking can be affected.
Mulige årsaker
- Damaged sensor 2 (outer lock position)
- The hydraulic pump motor is damaged
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1With diagnostic equipment you can see whether sensor 2 (outer lock position) changes status at the end of a closing
- 2Press the tailgate close button, which sits low on the tailgate, and listen for whether the closing drags on
- 3Check that the wiring to the sensor is intact. If it is intact but the fault remains, a workshop should replace the lock mechanism
- 4Clear the code and road test the car. If it returns, a workshop must decide whether the hydraulic pump motor needs replacing
