The control module can no longer reach the SAS, the unit that reports the steering wheel angle over CAN. The fault lies in the control module that sends the information. Steering may feel abnormal at high and low speed, and the park assist may be affected.

1Check that the battery is charged and that the fuses are intact
2If you have a diagnostic tool: check the codes stored in the CEM first
3Check that the wiring is not chafed where it runs to the steering wheel angle sensor

5Safety note: steering is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out the check if the steering still feels abnormal
