The control module receives a signal from the steering angle sensor (SAS) stating that its information is incorrect, and the fault is stored if this lasts for a longer period. It is an information code that does not need repair and does not indicate a fault in the module where it is stored.

- 1Read and note the fault code; it normally does not need repair unless it returns
- 2Check the connector at the steering angle sensor for a loose fit or corrosion
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: check the steering angle in live data and confirm the value changes smoothly as the wheel is turned
- 4If the fault returns or the problems remain, have a workshop check the steering angle sensor and the module that passes on the information
- 5Steering is a safety system, so avoid long drives with abnormal steering until a workshop has checked the car
