The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) monitors the signal from the rear right inflatable curtain. The signal cable shows a resistance higher than expected, which can be caused by contact resistance or an open circuit in the cable, or an open circuit in the curtain.
Mulige årsaker
- Contact resistance or an open circuit in the wiring between the inflatable curtain and the SRS module
- Open circuit in the inflatable curtain, so that the resistance in the igniter is too high
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1With a diagnostic tool, read and note the fault code before it is cleared
- 2Have a workshop check that the connector terminals to the rear right inflatable curtain are not damaged or pressed back
- 3Have a workshop check the cable between the curtain and the SRS module for an open circuit and contact resistance
- 4If the fault remains after these checks, the inflatable curtain may need replacing, which a workshop does
- 5Leave all work on the airbag system to a workshop
