The supplemental restraint system is not getting the front seat location reading over the CAN network from the central electronics module (CEM). The cause can be a break in the network, a fault in the CEM or a fault in the seat position sensor.

1If you have diagnostic equipment: check whether live data for the front seat position is shown. If the value is missing, the signal is gone from the CAN network
2Have a workshop visually check the connector to the SRS control module for loose or corroded contacts
3Clear the code and see if it comes back
4If it comes back, have a workshop check the CAN wiring between the control modules and look into the central electronics module
5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
