The signal to the passenger airbag switch carries a voltage outside the range the SRS measures. The incorrect voltage level in the signal line is the cause.

1Have a workshop visually check the connector at the switch and the connector at the SRS control module for loose, oxidised or corroded contacts
2Clear the code and see if it comes back
3If it comes back, have a workshop measure the voltage in the line and replace the switch if the wiring is intact
4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
