Hva betyr feilkoden?
Although the code is named ABS, it concerns the communication between the airbag control module and the brake control module (BCM). The airbag module normally receives continuous information from the brake control module, and the code is set when that information stops.
Mulige årsaker
- The brake control module (BCM) has stopped sending the signal the airbag module expects
- Intermittent open-circuits or short-circuits on the CAN wiring
- Incorrect signal configuration after a control module has been replaced without new software being loaded
Hva du kan gjøre
- 1Read out all fault codes in the car; if codes for lost communication are stored in the central electronic module (CEM), start with those
- 2If the fault seems to come and go, erase the code and see whether it is not set again
- 3Have a workshop check the CAN wiring for open-circuits and for short-circuits to ground or voltage
- 4If the brake control module has recently been replaced, have a workshop check that it has the correct software
- 5Do not work on the brake system or the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out all wiring and control module checks
Symptomer du kan merke2
- Red warning symbol and text message in the display
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
Generell veiledning for bileiere. Feilsøking på bilen kan peke på en annen årsak.
