The airbag control module checks communication with the closing velocity module (CVM) and the passenger weight sensor (OWS), and the code is set when the communication is faulty. The fault is caused by CAN wiring short-circuited to supply voltage or ground.

- 1Read out the fault codes in the car and start with those relating to communication
- 2Have a workshop check the CAN wiring between the airbag module and the closing velocity module (CVM) for short-circuits to ground and to supply voltage
- 3Have a workshop check the wiring and connectors to the passenger weight sensor for the same faults
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out all wiring and control module checks
