The transmission control module (TCM) has found that the position of shift fork 2 is unreasonable. Shift fork 2 is one of four forks that engage the gears mechanically using solenoids, and each fork reports its position to the control module through its own position sensor.

2If you have diagnostic equipment, compare the position value for shift fork 2 with the others in live data and see whether anything stands out clearly
3If readings are within limits, the fault has probably been sporadic; clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
4If a value is outside or at the limit, a workshop should replace the mechatronic unit
5If the fault is inside the control module, it must be replaced; a new module is delivered without software and must be programmed by a workshop
