The incoming speed sensor, which sits at the clutch, gives a signal that deviates from the engine speed. The TCM takes its engine speed reading from the engine control module over the CAN bus and compares it with the sensor signal. The sensor signal is also used to check the other two speed sensors.

2If you have diagnostic equipment, compare the incoming speed value in live data with the engine speed while the engine is running and see whether they match

4If the fault is inside the control module, it must be replaced; a new module is delivered without software and must be programmed by a workshop
