It shows that the difference between input speed and engine speed is too small for a short period, which indicates that the torque converter lock-up is blocked from slipping. The control module monitors the function to avoid engine stalls when braking and slowing down.

- Contact resistance, oxidation or poor contact at the plugs or joints
- Open circuit or short-circuit to ground or voltage in the cable to the lock-up solenoid
- The lock-up solenoid is stuck
- The lock-up solenoid is damaged
- Worn torque converter
- Fault inside the control module (TCM) for the transmission
