Technical Description
DTC C0297 indicates a circuit malfunction or rationality fault in the Brake Master Cylinder Pressure Sensor input circuit monitored by the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). The sensor utilizes a piezoresistive transducer element energized by a regulated 5.0V reference. The analog output voltage provides proportional hydraulic pressure feedback (typically 0.5V at 0 bar to 4.5V at maximum line pressure). The DTC is set if the ADC input voltage drops below lower limits (short to ground/open circuit, <0.2V), exceeds upper limits (short to Vref/B+, >4.8V), exhibits excessive noise, or fails correlation checks against the brake pedal switch status.
Possible Causes
1. Glappkontakt, oxidation eller 'pin fretting' i trycksensorns kontaktstycke eller EBCM-huvudkontakt.
2. Defekt bromstryckgivare (internt avbrott, kortslutning eller drift i piezoresistivt element).
3. Skadat kablage (skavning mot chassi, inducerad kortslutning till jord eller 12V).
4. Intern hårdvaruskada i EBCM (defekt A/D-omvandlare eller 5V spänningsregulator).

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
