Technical Description
P0094 is set when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects an unexpected pressure drop in the high-pressure side of the fuel system (Common Rail), indicating a small leak. The system monitors the relationship between fuel pump speed, fuel pressure regulator (FPR) duty cycle, and actual feedback from the fuel pressure sensor (FRP). If the regulator must compensate beyond defined thresholds to maintain target pressure, a leak is inferred. This condition affects fuel trims and may trigger 'Limp Home Mode' to mitigate fire risks or high-pressure component damage.
Possible Causes
Faulty or leaking fuel pressure regulator (FPR/MPROP).
Internal injector leak (excessive fuel return/back-leakage).
Faulty fuel pressure sensor (FRP) providing inaccurate readings.
Mechanical high-pressure pump failure or external fuel line leak (visible leak).

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
