Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?
The oxygen sensor tells the engine control module (ECM) about the fuel and air mixture. When the signal is wrong, for example too high, too low or missing, the code is set. The cause may be the sensor, the wiring or the connections.
Mögliche Ursachen
- Damaged oxygen sensor
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage, giving too high a signal
- Signal wire shorted to ground, giving too low a signal
- Break in the signal wire, so the signal is missing
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals
Was Sie tun können
- 1Read the code, clear it and drive for a while to see whether it returns
- 2Switch off the ignition, unplug the oxygen sensor connector and look for oxidation, corrosion and loose connections
- 3Check that the signal wire is not chafed or pinched
- 4With the car switched off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not broken and has no contact with ground or voltage
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool: watch the oxygen sensor value in live data while the engine idles. A value that does not change at all suggests the sensor or its wiring
