Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?
The engine control module has found a short to ground on the signal cable to the main battery relay. The relay disconnects the battery circuit during restart after an auto-stop, and with a faulty control signal the module cannot operate it. Automatic start/stop is switched off, and start attempts can fail.
Mögliche Ursachen
- Loose connector or oxidation in the connector
- Signal cable short-circuited to ground
- Open circuit in the signal cable
- Damaged battery relay
- Mechanical or electrical fault on the relay
- Wiring to the relay is shorted or broken
Was Sie tun können
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are in the owner's manual
- 2Check that the battery is charged and that the battery terminals are tight
- 3Check the cable and connectors at the relay and the engine control module for chafing, pinched sections, loose contacts and corrosion
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable has no contact with ground (the body) with the connectors disconnected
- 5Erase the fault code and road test the car, preferably with several engine starts, to see whether the fault returns
- 6If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop replace the battery relay
Symptome, die Sie bemerken können2
- Automatic engine start/stop does not work, both while driving and at idle
- The engine does not start, the starter motor does not turn and there is no clicking sound at start attempts
Was der Fehler beeinflussen kann2
- The automatic engine start/stop function is switched off
- Starting can be prevented when the relay does not work
