Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?
The engine control module compares the camshaft position with the crankshaft position and adjusts the camshaft adaptation when they do not agree. The code concerns bank 1, sensor A, and is set when the adaptation value rises above a limit. Adaptation is carried out during engine braking, and the code is checked only after it has been completed.
Mögliche Ursachen
- Incorrectly set camshafts
- Damaged VVT unit
- Poor quality engine oil
- Faulty camshaft control valve
- Damaged or worn timing chain

- 1Read the code and note whether it is active right now or only stored
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the camshaft adaptation and timing angle in live data with the engine running, and compare with the target value
- 3Check the engine oil level and that the oil is clean and of the right quality
- 4Have a workshop remove the control valve for cleaning and check the oil passages in the cylinder head
- 5Have a workshop check the camshaft basic setting, since incorrect setting can cause this fault
- 6If the fault returns: have a workshop check the VVT unit and the timing drive
