    Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?

The control module checks the coolant temperature sensor signal. If the signal corresponds to a temperature higher than a certain value, the fault code is set. The fault is linked to the signal cable, which may be short-circuited to ground or have an open circuit.

    Mögliche Ursachen

    • Increased resistance or oxidation in the signal wire connection
    • Open circuit in the signal cable
    • Damaged coolant temperature sensor

    Was Sie tun können

    1. 1Read the fault code status with the ignition on and check whether the fault is active. Then clear the code and road test the vehicle
    2. 2Check the connector at the coolant temperature sensor for contact resistance and oxidation
    3. 3With the connector unplugged, use a multimeter to check that the signal cable is not short-circuited to ground (the body) and does not have an open circuit
    4. 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the coolant temperature sensor value in live data. A value that is too high compared with the engine warm-up suggests the fault is still present
    5. 5If the wiring and connector are in order and the fault remains, have a workshop check or replace the coolant temperature sensor

    Symptome, die Sie bemerken können2

    • The Check engine light comes on or behaves abnormally
    • The engine does not start

    Was der Fehler beeinflussen kann2

    • The engine temperature is calculated using a model
    • The electric cooling fan runs at a predefined speed

Allgemeine Hinweise für Fahrzeughalter. Die Diagnose am Fahrzeug kann eine andere Ursache zeigen.
